As chief executive officer of the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® (HBR), Suzanne Young leads one of Hawaii’s largest trade organizations in its day-to-day operations, working together with a Board of Directors composed of member volunteers, to enhance the professionalism of and provide support to more than 6,500 real estate professionals across Oahu and on Molokai. She also oversees Honolulu’s multiple listing service, HiCentral MLS, Ltd., which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Board.

Since beginning her career at the Board in 1989, Suzanne has served in various capacities across several departments, including Education, Professional Standards, Membership and Communications. Following a six-year tenure as Area Office Manager for Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, she returned to HBR in 2010 as Director of Programs to spearhead the Board’s internal and external communications, education, and professional standards programs. Selected by HBR’s Board of Directors from among dozens of qualified applicants, Suzanne assumed the position of CEO in April 2015.

An alumna of Punahou School and the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Suzanne is deeply rooted in the Honolulu community and is a passionate advocate for homeownership, affordable housing and responsible, transit-orientated development.

She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Domestic Violence Action Center and was President for the last two years, 2018-2020.  She is also a member of the Board of Water Supply Stakeholder Advisory Group.
