Over the last 26 years the Hawai‘i Arts Alliance has built a tradition of community arts participation brick by brick. We sponsored professional development in the arts for teachers, and family/community programs for underserved neighborhoods. We created arts partnerships between artists and public and private groups to ensure that the arts are at the table with our civic and business leaders, in education, and in community development.
Pursuing arts is often thought to be a losing battle in economic hard times, but we knew the value.
